Rigging in Irby Fell Cavern-Y Dales
Fundamentals of SRT – Single rope techniques
SRT skills in a mine shaft – Welsh lead mine
The joys of ascending a vertical pitch on a rope suspended down a pitch on one’s own steam is a fulfilling experience whilst caving. Not only this, but it’s a very efficient way to descend and ascend vertical sections of a cave and is the starting block for becoming self-sufficient within vertical caves thus, allowing you to explore many of the UK classic caves.
After this course you will be able to be self-sufficient and be able club cave and join other cavers where they carry out all the rigging. It gives you the independence to start the sport of vertical caving as a hobby.
